The Lord Marshal of Ravens Bluff was the ultimate authority in charge of the defense of the city and their holdings in the Vast, from internal and external threats. They commanded all of the military forces, including the city's army, navy, specialty units and, in times of crisis, the various orders of knights.
While the Lord Marshal was responsible for the domestic defense of the Bluff, the daily operations of the City Watch was handled by the Chief Constable. During times of war, a Field Marshal was appointed under the Lord Marshal, to act as a field commander.
- Gaius Varro: Lord Marshal Varro held the post until 1370 DR, when he disappeared during the War of Ravens Bluff.
