M'tarl was a drow lieutenant within Jarlaxle's Bregan D'aerthe.[1]
History[]
In 1358 DR,[4] while traveling through the deadly streets of Menzoberranzan seeking valuable information to help the organization's cause, Jarlaxle and M'tarl encountered Gromph Baenre.[5]
“
Alas," Gromph said dramatically, and Jarlaxle paused. "M'tarl did not survive.
”
To have a private conversation with Jarlaxle, Gromph transported M'tarl to an extra-dimensional realm.[1] After their meeting ended, Gromph told Jarlaxle his lieutenant perished.[3][note 1]

Notes[]
- ↑ In the novel Siege of Darkness, Gromph takes Jarlaxle into an extra-dimensional pocket and destroys a zombie servant with fire. While there is no concrete evidence this zombie is M'tarl, the question is still presented for the reader.
