Maram of the Great Spear was a primordial, confined to the Elemental Chaos by the Monuments of the Ancients.[1]. It was also one of the "Seven Lost Gods".[2]

Vassals

Maram was served by an elemental prince that was also his herald, a lesser primordial known as Pyricus.[3]

History

Maram, an ancient primordial, was released into the world of Toril in the fifth century before the Dale Reckoning calendar began by archwizards of Netheril, who were seeking to counter an invasion from the Outer Planes, beginning the Seven Sigils War. After a century they managed to contain or banish most of the immortal and elemental beings who they had allowed into Toril, but one, Maram of the Great Spear, escaped.

Maram subjugated the primitive human tribes in Rystall Wood. His human slaves worshiped him as a god for a time, but in -357 DR, the Year of the Sycophants, a coalition of many peoples and races led by three mortals who would one day become known as the Dead Three managed to bind Maram and seal him back in the Elemental Chaos.[1]
