Marek was a human thief and a high-ranking member of the thieves' guild of Zhentil Keep in the mid–14th century DR.[1]

Marek was a mentor to the young thief Cyric. However, Cyric later escaped from Zhentil Keep and tried to live a more honest life.[1]
History[]
During the Time of Troubles in the Year of Shadows, 1358 DR, Marek traveled to Arabel[1] and then Shadowdale to persuade Cyric to rejoin the guild and abandon the people of the Dalelands to Bane. Cyric refused firmly and to fully embrace his freedom he killed Marek.[2]
