Mashed potatoes was a simple dish of boiled potatoes found in the west and Northwest Faerûn.[4]
Description[]
A typical mash was a playful of creamy paste flavored with black pepper and nutmeg and sprinkled with chopped chives or parsley,[4] or drowned in brown gravy.[1]
Availability[]
Mashed potatoes were known to be prepared and served in eateries of Baldur's Gate and roadside inns in the Western Heartlands, such as Waukeen's Rest.[4] In the city of Neverwinter, mashed potatoes topped with gravy was served in lavish noble feats.[1] In Hillsfar in the Moonsea region, potato mash was served in feasts with roast meat and sauerkraut.[2] The dish's simplicity made it a staple in the messhalls of Ravens Deep, Ravens Bluff's Underdark settlement outpost in the late 14th century DR.[3]
