Master alchemists were powerful arcane or divine spellcasters who were able to reproduce the effects of spells of the 4th circle or higher using potions. They were the most adept among all alchemists.[1]

The most powerful master alchemists could replicate the effects of spells of even the 9th circle using specially prepared potions. However, this required the right raw materials, equipment, and sometimes even a whole alchemical lab. Aside from that, they could also cast spells conventionally like clerics or wizards.[1]
They had an easier time further developing their alchemical skills. Additionally they were adept at developing their ability to concentrate, craft, and scry, as well as their spellcraft and arcane knowledge.[1]
More powerful master alchemists had great knowledge about magical items and could identify them easily.[1]
