This article is about the body of water in the Moonsea region. For the body of water in Laerakond, see Dragon Sea (Abeir).
The Moonsea, originally known as the Dragon Sea,[3] was a deep natural lake just north of Cormanthor. The Moonsea gave its name to the whole Moonsea region, as the name Moonsea applied to both the lake and the lands around the lake.[2]
“
Traveling from the Dalelands to the Moonsea is a bit like walking from a temperate, lush forest into a raging snowstorm: It's unexpected, uncomfortable, and if you aren't prepared for it, it could kill you.
