A moorhound was a huge, shaggy breed of dog with long legs and powerful muscles.[3] They were favored as hunting and war dogs, and as status symbols, among the Ffolk of the Moonshae Isles.[3][4]
Description[]
On average, this breed's back was up to the height of a human man's waist[3] and their bodies were 5 feet (1.5 meters) long.[2]

They originated on the island of Moray.[4]
In the years following 1385 DR, packs of wild moorhounds became prevalent across Corwell, the pastoral heartland of Gwynneth Isle.[5]
