Motra was a city in Tabot. It was considered a twin city of its neighbor, Joya.[5][1][3][3][4]
Geography[]
It stood in southeastern Tabot, at the very edge of the border with Shou Lung's Arakin province. Motra lay just north of the river there, while Joya lay opposite in the south.[1][2][3][4]
Population[]
In the eyes of Pang, a monk of Pokarr Gompa, the twin cities of Motra and Joya were frontier towns and their people only "confused laymen". He believed the streets were plagued with thieves, bandits, murderers, and even "night assassins", and that the people gave free passage to outlaws from Shou Lung and T'u Lung. It was rumored the people worshiped "the frog and the snake".[5] The agents of Lady Holang of Pim Tung operated here around Shou Year 2607 (1357 DR).[6]
History[]
Holang, who was kidnapped as a youth from a wealthy family in T'u Lung, was taken to Motra and sold before she was of marriageable age. Baron Mukow Jian bought her and took her to of Pim Tung as his house slave.[6]
