The Nahopaca were a group of people living in Maztica. They were one of the seven major tribes of Mazticans.[1]

Society

Unlike the Dog People, the Nahopaca disliked the arid desert environment and so migrated to a less harsh area further north,[2] living among the brush of the Pasocada Baisn.[3] They were hunter-gatherers, using their nomadic lifestyle to find the most plentiful source of food at any one time. They were not above raiding humanoid civilizations such as the Azuposi, but they would not go near the ruins of Esh Alakar, because of a Nahopacan myth about evil forces being imprisoned there.[2]

The Nahopaca spoke their own language.[4]

Combat

Nahopaca fought with bows and arrows.[5]

History

The Nahopaca were distantly related to the Dog People.[2]
