Ndulu was a balor demon of the Abyss.[1][2]

Ndulu was the greatest of the demon lord Eltab's balor lieutenants.[2]
History[]
Ndulu forged the Moaning Crown of Ndulu in the 8th century DR in his lair beneath the Earthfast Mountains.[4]
He was general of a demonic army driven back to the Abyss by the Paladin Princes of Impiltur at the Battle of Moaning Gorge in the Year of the Moaning Gorge, 786 DR. Prince Nord, wielding the sword Demonbane, forced Ndulu himself to flee the Prime Material plane.[5][6][2][7]

Background[]
Ndulu was one of the original six named "Type VI" demons, alongside Errtu, Ter-soth, Alzoll, Wendonai, and Balor, the greatest of them all. The Type VI demons were later named balors, now referring to the breed of demon as a whole. These demons were listed in the Index of Monster Manual II 1st edition, with reference to Monster Manual 1st edition p. 19, but only Balor is mentioned there.
