Nether the Elder, also known as King Nether, was the shaman king of Gers, one of the seven towns whose coalition formed Netheril.[1]

The shaman king was tyrannical and egotistical in his rule.[1]
Activities[]
Nether was credited with developing the calendar that began measurement at the beginning of the coalition, and was referred to as "Netheril Years" or NY.[1]
History[]
Nether the Elder was born in −3889 DR in Gers of the soon-to-be Alliance of Seventon.[2] He became the shaman king of Gers sometime before forming the Alliance of Seventon and created Nether's Calendar to celebrate the formation of the coalition.[1]
Death[]
The shaman was assassinated by a poisoned dirk from an unknown killer, but Nether was succeeded by Nether the Younger.[1]
