Nim was a nimblewright at the House of Inspired Hands in Waterdeep in the early 1490s DR.[1]

Activities[]

Nim was an avid and capable inventor. Some of its inventions included a partially functional mechanical sparrow, as well as a nimblewright detector. It was also capable of constructing other nimblewrights.[1]

History[]

Nim was built by a Lantanese wizard who, during a visit to Waterdeep, decided to donate him to the local church of Gond. Out of loneliness and boredom, Nim started creating his own inventions.[1]

In the Year of Three Ships Sailing, 1492 DR,[note 1] Nim created a nimblewright that went rogue and escaped from the temple.[1] The rogue nimblewright was befriended and then recruited by Yalah Gralhund as a servant. It was given a necklace of fireballs and tasked with assassinating the gnome Dalakhar and obtaining the Stone of Golorr, triggering the detonation of a fireball in Trollskull Alley.[3] When informed about those events, the cleric of Gond Valetta decided to strip Nim of all his construction materials.[1]

Appendix[]

Notes[]

  1. Canon material does not provide a year for the events described in Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, but Christopher Perkins answered a question via Twitter and stated the year was 1492 DR. Corroborating this, Dragon Heist page 20 refers to events of Death Masks (set in 1491 DR) as being "last year". Unless a canon source contradicts this assertion, this wiki will use 1492 DR for events related to this sourcebook and Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage (which is referenced on pages 5 and 98 of Dragon Heist).
