Nine Stars Around a Silver Moon was a ballad penned by a famed adventuring bard Mintiper Moonsilver, also known as The Lonely Harpist, in the early 14th century DR.[2]

Nine Stars Around a Silver Moon was published in the Year of the Highmantle, 1336 DR[2] and a written copy of the ballad was kept in the great fortress-library of Candlekeep as of the Year of Wild Magic, 1372 DR.[1] By the late 15th century, a book compiled by Silke Rosena – Sword Coast Songbook, contained lyrics and sheet music for Nine Stars Around a Silver Moon and made available in the city of Baldur's Gate.[4]
