Orth was an apprentice Red Wizard of Thay in the mid-14th century DR.[1]
Description[]
He had a round face.[1]
Abilities[]
Orth could cast magic missile, and he could take a fair number of them, too, without falling right away. He was one of the four weakest apprentices of Azmyrandyr; his disguise spells only lasted a few hours.[1]
Relationships[]
He was apprenticed to Azmyrandyr.[1]
History[]
In 1369 DR, the Simbul assaulted a temple of Shar somewhere in Thay where the Red Wizard Azmyrandyr was preparing for an intrigue. Her goal was a revenge attack after Azmyrandyr participated in an attack on Silverymoon. During her attack, Azmyrandyr and his apprentices were rehearsing the impersonation of several notables from Nimpeth; Orth himself was practicing his impersonation of a sailor of no renown.[1]
One of her first attacks was to strike him with magic missiles; he responded with some of his own, but did no more beyond that.[1][note 1]
