Ott Steeltoes was the most competent smuggler of the Xanathar Thieves' Guild of Skullport.[1]
History[]
Ott was a renegade of the Ironmaster clan. He first worked as a pirate, but later was offered a place in the Xanathar's Thieves' Guild. He quickly accepted, liking the prospect of more power and a less dangerous life.[1]
In the mid-to-late 14th century DR, the reorganization of the guild (and the secret change of the guild master) gave him more freedom in his thieving operations, which Ott greatly enjoyed. He became good friends with Ahmaergo and the two dwarves often drank together.[1]
Around 1492 DR Ott was the caretaker of Sylgar, the pet fish of the Xanathar.[2][note 1]

Notes[]
- ↑ Canon material does not provide a year for the events described in Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, but Christopher Perkins answered a question via Twitter and stated the year was 1492 DR. Corroborating this, Dragon Heist page 20 refers to events of Death Masks (set in 1491 DR) as being "last year". Unless a canon source contradicts this assertion, this wiki will use 1492 DR for events related to this sourcebook and Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage (which is referenced on pages 5 and 98 of Dragon Heist).
