Oxal Ekkam was a half-orc druid of Eberron's Gatekeepers, during the late 14th century DR of Faerûn.[1][note 1][note 2]
“
Very strange. Most of the portals here were created by my fellow Gatekeepers. But this one simply manifested all by itself the other day!
My theory is that our Gatekeeper activity in the Grove has weakened the membrane between the plane here, allowing a spontaneous … sinkhole, let's call it, to form between the Grove and somewhere else. Probably another place where the membrane between planes has been weakened.

— Oxal[1]
Description[]
Oxal had long gray hair and tan skin.[1]
History[]
“
Our initial peek through the portal shows that it's that world with that spider goddess, the one that caused all the trouble some time ago. Faerun, I think. Or is it Toril? I always get those mixed up. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be anything too terrifying on the other side. Just some very polite elves in a place called Myth Drannor. Though perhaps I should add that they're well-armed polite elves.
”
— Oxal[1]
During the Elven Crusade, a portal opened between the Myth Drannor outskirts camp and the Gatekeeper's Grove in Stormreach. Oxal kept a cautious eye on it, wary of the recent episode in which the Spinner of Shadows and Lolth almost destroyed Eberron. Fortunately, the only thing on the other side were the Elves of Cormanthor and their planar sage Pyndil Bospin, and so both sides were more than happy to tolerate and ignore a portal that didn't produce things like demons.[1]

Notes[]
- ↑ Magic of Myth Drannor is dated to 1374 DR, as it seems to take place during Ilsevele Miritar's Elven Crusade, shortly before its arrival at Myth Drannor.
- ↑ From the perspective of those in Eberron, the events of Magic of Myth Drannor are shown to be shortly after those of Menace of the Underdark, while in Faerûn Myth Drannor precedes Underdark by more than a century. At least from the perspective of those in Myth Drannor through the portal he stood next to, Oxal was in the 14th century DR, and that's that. Right?
