The Palace of Sweet Pain was a temple dedicated to Loviatar located in the city of Zhentil Keep during the mid–14th century DR.[2][1]
Location[]
The temple was located in south Zhentil Keep in the central section of the Foreign Quarter just off of Zhent Avenue.[3][4]
Description[]
Gothic tones permeated the design of the temple. It was decorated with barbs and spike and gloom was felt throughout the entire structure. As expected, the subterranean levels of the temple contained horrific torture chambers and cells. A special maze called the Broken Body was found here as well.[1]
Inhabitants[]
Ulamyth Quantor remained the High Priest, or High Torturelord, of the temple as of the Year of the Gauntlet, 1369 DR. He was assisted by 14 other priests and priestesses.[1]
Rumors & Legends[]
Locals believed that anyone falling asleep and having the shadow of the temple fall upon them would have divinely-inspired nightmares.[1]
