Paralytic bolts were a type of enchanted ammunition for crossbows that caused its targets to become stunned.[2]
Powers[]
There were many types of paralytic bolts with varied potency and duration that depended on the power of bolts' creators. But all paralytic bolts had power to stun their targets upon a successful shot. An average bolt had a coin toss of a chance to render the target creatures stunned and it lasted for 12 seconds.[2]
History[]
By the late 14th century DR, paralytic bolt were in wide use. One could find them across many cities of the Sword Coast, including Baldur's Gate[1] and Neverwinter, as well as the Nelanther Isles in the Sea of Swords[3]
