The periapt of proof against poison was a type of magical amulet that granted protective attributes and curative abilities to its wearer. They were found in the continent of Kara-Tur. Eunuchs who served as food-tasters for emperors would commonly wear these articles of jewelry.[2]

Description[]

The periapt was a large gemstone, hanging from a gold chain.[2] Post-Second Sundering versions of the amulet consisted of a black gem pendant hanging from a silver chain.[1]

Powers[]

This amulet completely protected its wearer from magical and mundane poisons.[1] It also allowed them to cast the spell cure poison once per day.[2]

Notable Users[]

  • Gathlarue had an amulet rendering her immune to all poisons in the mid-14th century DR.[3]
