Sir PomFritte Fromage was an eccentric hin adventuring knight of the Golden Rooster from the Living City, Ravens Bluff, active in the late 14th century DR.[1]

PomFritte was a pompous swashbuckling halfling who spoke with a distinct accent – pronouncing "the" as "zee."[1]

History[]
In Uktar, Nightal of the Year of the Unstrung Harp, 1371 DR,[note 1] PomFritte Fromage announced the formation of the so-called Halfling Nation. The knight's reasoning and plans for the new-fangled nation were laid out in the interview conducted by Jennylou Brightleaf of the Ravens Bluff Trumpeter broadsheet. The interview occurred in Sir Fromage's large suite in the Seven Tigers Inn. The knight stated that elves and dwarves formed cities, towns, and nations of their own, unlike the hin (strangely forgetting about the existence of Luiren). However, he did not propose that halflings leave Ravens Bluff and start a farming community elsewhere. The Bluff has all the amenities the eccentric knight wanted, food was acceptable, and the lodgings were tidy. When asked what laws this proposed Halfling Nation would follow, Sir Fromage declared his commitment to the Golden Rooster and the city's laws. The halfling ended the interview as he needed to supervise the construction of his wine tasting room and closed it by declaring that all haltings who were interested in joining the "nation" were to stop at the Seven Tigers Inn and book a room using the special Halfling Nation rate.[1]

- ↑ The events of the Living City Ravens Bluff campaign took place on a timeline that advanced together with the real world's time. Even though all Living City adventures and issues of Ravens Bluff Trumpeter were dated with real-world dates, there were events that received a DR year. The Living City timeline can be derived from Myrkyssa Jelan's historic events of the late 14th century DR. Myrkyssa Jelan attacked Ravens Bluff in 1370 DR, according to The City of Ravens Bluff and Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting 3rd edition; these events are chronicled in an in-and-out of universe issues of Ravens Bluff Trumpeter. This places the real world year 1997 as 1370 DR, and in 1998 (1371 DR), Myrkyssa was at last arrested and tried and said to have been executed, only to reappear in 1372 DR in The City of Ravens novel. As the real world's months and the Calendar of Harptos are virtually identical, we can also date all events of the Living City Ravens Bluff as close as an in-universe month.
