The Market Ward was the locale that housed most of Port Nyanzaru's mercantile businesses and shops, along with residences of its tradespeople.[1][2]
Description[]
The Market Ward comprised the eastern part of the walled portion of Port Nyanzaru, abutting the Harbor Ward to the west and sitting atop a ridge overlooking the Bay of Chult.[2][3] Modest residences and a myriad of businesses and crafting houses were built in large clusters[3][4] around and up two hills: Mount Sibasa to the northeast—topped by the Hall of Gold[1] and a number of shops and homes,[5] including some fancier villas[4]—and Yklwazi Hill to the southwest—topped by the Grand Coliseum. A wide stone bridge connected the two hilltops, and the steep slopes of each hills were climbed by stepped streets and terraced buildings.[1][2][6]
The ward was typically bustling with activity,[4] especially the Red Bazaar, which dominated much of the ward on its southeastern side.[2][7]
