ProFantasy Software Ltd. is a company that develops mapping software for tabletop role-playing and war games.[1]
History[]
ProFantasy Software Ltd was founded in 1993 and became an established map-making software company.[1] Six years later, the Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas was developed by the in-house team, in addition to some Wizards of the Coast staff. Together, the team developed over 800 maps of places within the Forgotten Realms campaign setting.[2] Robert Lazzaretti was involved in designing the symbols.[3] Since its release, their atlas received three updates.[4] The Interactive Atlas product completely sold out, and remains out of print over two decades later.[5]
Trivia[]
- Linda Kekumu, the primary cartographer for the Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas, became immortalized in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting during her work at ProFantasy Software Ltd. During the third patch of the Interactive Atlas, Eric L. Boyd named the northernmost island in Faerûn after her reversed surname, Umukek.
