The psychokinesis discipline of psionics revolved around the manipulation or transformation of matter[1][2] and energy,[2][3][4] described by some as the movement[3][5] and rearrangement of objects, down to very tiny motes of reality[3] or molecules.[5] Telekinesis was the purest expression of this telekinetic force,[3] with for a time almost all psychokinetic powers requiring it as a prerequisite,[6] but other representative powers included concussion blast,[3][4] energy current, energy wave,[4] matter agitation, and matter manipulation.[3] Its equivalent among the schools of magic was evocation.[4]

Description[]

The displays or "visual effects" given off by many psychokinetic powers were spectacular, going above and beyond the standard displays manifested by powers of other disciplines. This discipline's powers were also noted for being able to inflict devastating harm to opponents.[3][4]

Creatures that were immune to the effects of evocation magic were likewise immune to psychokinetic powers.[4]

Notable Users[]

  • Kineticists,[2] also known as savants,[1] psions who chose to specialize in mastery of psychokinesis over all other disciplines.[1][2] Their specialization in the discipline led them to accessing psychokinetic powers that were largely unobtainable by other psionics users.[7]
  • Aleithilithos, the amethyst dragon thane of Sardior, whose area of focus was psychokinesis.[8]
