Pyndil Bospin was an elf sage who specialized in portals and the planes, who investigated the ruins of Myth Drannor in the late 14th century DR.[1][note 1]

Welcome to our camp. You're near the ruins of Myth Drannor, in the Cormanthor forest. Oh, I should also add, "on the continent of Faerun, on the world of Toril."
I imagine it can be disorienting to travel from world to world like that!
— Pyndil[1]

Description[]

Pyndil had long silvery hair and brown eyes. He wore an ornate green set of robes.[1]

History[]

The planar fabric in the old city had been weakened by frequent magic use. When the Mythal began to act erratically after the city's fall, portals to other places started to appear and disappear unpredictably.
That continues to this day. We're just fortunate that the portal that appeared in our camp happens to lead to your relatively quiet world. In the ruins, portals often open to places like the Underdark, the Nine Hells, the Abyss … and worse.
— Pyndil[1]

In the Year of Lightning Storms, 1374 DR, Pyndil was a senior member of the Elves of Cormanthor at their forward camp outside of Myth Drannor. He provided expertise on the subject of the planar instability caused by the mythal, which caused a number of unusual hazards and threats inside the ruins.[1]

He kept an eye on a particular portal that opened in the campsite, which seemed to lead to the world of Eberron where the Gatekeeper Oxal Ekkam monitored his own end of the portal. Pyndil was quite relieved that only adventurers came through instead of monsters.[1]

Notes[]

  1. Magic of Myth Drannor is dated to 1374 DR, as it seems to take place during Ilsevele Miritar's Elven Crusade, shortly before its arrival at Myth Drannor.
