The pyrohydra (pl: pyrohydrae[2][3] or: pyrohydras[1]) was a variety of hydra that could breathe jets of fire, in a cone, from each of its heads.[1]
Ecology[]
Habitats[]
Pyrohydras were typically found in the Peaks of Flame in Chult[4] and the Fire Marshes of High Moor.[5]
They were also native to the Elemental Plane of Fire.[6]
History[]
Amidst the havoc of Halaster's Higharvestide in the Year of the Gauntlet, 1369 DR, a pyrohydra passed from Undermountain through the Sojourner's Portal into the crypts below the Temple of Old Night.[7]
