Ralzala was a dao in Avernus, first layer of the Nine Hells, in the late 15th century DR.[1]
History[]
Ralzala made a pact with the archdevil Zariel in order to destroy a rival but found herself in servitude to the devil.[1]
In the Year of Three Ships Sailing, 1492 DR,[note 1] Ralzala was assigned to watch over a demon zapper that imprisoned the unicorn Mooncolor. However, she was tired of servitude and was searching for someone that could help her to break the pact, possibly the former archdevil Bel.[1]

- ↑ Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus is set in 1492 DR per the "Baldur's Gate Gazetteer" section (p. 159) and a clarification from the adventure's lead writer. Baldur's Gate III, which is a direct sequel to Descent into Avernus set immediately after its events, is also set in 1492 DR. In an apparent error, pages 7 and 47 of Descent into Avernus describes certain events as occurring "fifty years" after the Companion's appearance in 1444 DR (which would set the adventure in 1494 DR). Regardless of whether this was an error, Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerûn reports both the 1444 DR appearance of the Companion and the 1492 DR events of Descent into Avernus as correct.
