Remove affliction, also called remove curse in pre-spellplague times, allows the caster to remove most curses from objects or creatures. It can allow a creature to drop a magically cursed item, but will not remove a magically cursed weapon or piece of armor. The more powerful a caster becomes, the more types of curses can be removed by casting this spell.

Before the spellplague, remove curve was a spell that almost any type of caster could cast, if they were of sufficient skill. It was also used to counter and dispel bestow curse.
