The River Chionthar was a large river that ran through the Western Heartlands. The river started high up in the Far Hills and flowed west into the Trackless Sea on the Sword Coast.[1]

Much trade flowed up and down this waterway. Barges could travel as far inland as Iriaebor.[3]
