The rod of favorable inclination was a unique enchanted rod crafted by Laeral Silverhand for Vajra Safahr in the late 15th century DR. It was one of many pieces of so-called "Silverhand gear" crafted for adventurers who helped to protect Waterdeep.[1]

Silverhand crafted the hooked metal rod to represent Vajra's strong convictions, and to empower her existing gift for imposing her convictions and interests onto her adversaries to influence their actions in her favor.[1]
