Ronin Challenge is an adventure module for the 2nd-edition Dungeons & Dragons ruleset set in Kara-Tur. It connects with the following adventure, Test of the Samurai.
Until someone starts playing for keeps.
When a traitor to the empire is revealed, His Excellency calls loyal and heroic citizens to follow the trail of deception. The scale of the treachery is grand - it seems that an entire army has turned its back on its rightful liege!
The trail leads through trackless (or seemingly trackless) mountains, into peaceful (or seemingly peaceful) valleys. The emperor has promised great rewards to heroes who can solve his mystery, but as the journey progresses the heroes find their own reasons for continuing.
As a sinister suspicion grow in the minds, the adventure reaches its climax in the ruins of an ancient civilization. Finally, our heroes are faced with an ultimate choice - between success and failure, loyalty and betrayal, even good and evil.
On their choice rests the future of nations.Index[]

Notes[]
- ↑ No date is given for Ronin Challenge, nor its companion adventure Test of the Samurai. However, it includes Kara-Turan characters from Hall of Heroes, which is dated to 1358 DR, and is set after the unfinished events detailed there. In particular, it seems at least "about a year" later for the Earth Spider. On the other hand, it includes characters featured in Dragonwall, which is dated to 1359/1360 DR, which clearly occurs later for them. In particular, Ting Mei Wan was recently made a minister in Ronin Challenge and has been minister for two years by the time of Dragonwall. These narrow the main events of Ronin Challenge to late 1358 DR or early 1359 DR.
