Salmon Bay, which was also called the Firth of Helmsgate,[5] was a prominent body of water located in northern Gnarhelm on the island of Alaron within the Moonshae Isles.[1][2][3]
Geography[]
Salmon Bay jutted south into the island of Alaron where the Sea of Moonshae and the Sea of Swords met. It cut southeast into the kingdom of Gnarhelm for approximately 30 miles (48 kilometers), nearly bisecting the kingdom into eastern and western halves. The southern end of Salmon Bay was connected to the Vasty Drink by a small unnamed river. The mountains of Hardangheight framed the bay's western shore.[1][2][3]
History[]
Sailing up and down the Bay could be dangerous and time consuming, which forced the Northlanders of Gnarhelm to become more reliant on overland travel than most of their seafaring kin across the Moonshae Isles.[5] Pirates could travel down the bay to pillage the land.[6]
