The Satyr language, sometimes referred to as the Faun language,[1][2] was the racial language of satyrs.[3][4][5]
Speakers[]
Beyond satyrs themselves, Satyr was a common secondary language among many of Faerûn's demihuman subraces. These included forest gnomes, lightfoot halflings, lythari, moon elves, rock gnomes, sun elves, tallfellow halflings, and wood elves.[6] Beyond demihumans, Satyr was also commonly spoken by other fey creatures, such as hamadryads,[7] korreds,[3] oreads,[8] and the fey-associating bacchae.[9]
Satyr was also fairly common as a secondary language among most druids,[10] including those devoted to certain nature deities.[11][12][13][14][15][16] These included the druids of Chauntea,[11][17] druids of Eldath,[12] druids and druid/rangers of Mielikki,[13] the druids of Silvanus,[14] the druids of Sheela Peryroyl,[15] and the druids of Shiallia.[16] Other forms of specialty priests in the Realms for whom Satyr was a commonly known secondary language included the Eldathyn peacemen[12] and the Shiallian woodwives.[16]
