Savyels Aka'Pillihp was a bounty hunter active in Thay during the 14th century DR.[1]
He was the namesake of the "Ward of Savyels", the entrance bailey of the version of the Flaming Brazier temple that stood in Bezantur as of the mid-to-late 14th century DR.[1][2]
Rumors & Legends[]
Local tales in Bezantur claimed that the Ward of Savyels earned its name when Savyels foiled a salamander lord's assassination attempt on Eternal Flame Mythalanir, the high priest of Kossuth of the Flaming Brazier.[1][2]

Background[]
The character is named for, in reverse, Phillip "Sleyvas" Wallace, a Forgotten Realms fan who was credited as "Phillip aka Sleyvas" for research assistance in Lands of Intrigue and Cormanthyr: Empire of the Elves. The Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance character Sleyvas may also be named for Phillip Wallace.
