Sayings of a Wise and Fat Merchant was a book penned by Guldoum Tchar of Mirabar in the late 13th century DR.[2]

Sayings of a Wise and Fat Merchant was a collection of musings and thoughts put to paper in the Year of the Crawling Clouds, 1283 DR. One notable opinion that Guldoum Tchar her was his dismissal of most spellcasters as con artists and that one could easily scare them away by pretending to cast spells, making somatic and verbal parts of spells up, scaring wizards off with ease.[2] A copy of the book was kept in the great fortress-library of Candlekeep as of the Year of Wild Magic, 1372 DR.[1]
