Appendix[]
Background[]
Scale Cleaver was created by Dean Martino of New York for a contest held in Polyhedron #70 to answer the question "What kind of magic sword is our cover's beauteous warrior wielding?" in reference to the cover art by Clyde Caldwell (a piece titled ""Babette the Barbarian – Dragon's Blood"). Presented in Polyhedron #76, Scale Cleaver was a runner-up alongside many other swords. It was reprinted in Encyclopedia Magica Volume IV.
