Shocking burst was a powerful magical quality that could be added to a weapon. When a weapon with this ability hit a foe in a vital area, it released a blast of electricity that harmed the creature. A shocking burst weapon also had the shock ability.[2]
Creation[]
A spellcaster needed a call lightning or lightning bolt spell to create a weapon with this ability.[2]
Uses[]
Some veteran Thayan gladiators had their horns, claws, and other natural weapons enhanced as shocking burst weapons.[3]
Helmed horrors could enhance their blades with magical qualities, including shocking burst among others.[4][5]
