Sight link was a minor psionic devotion of the telepathy discipline that allowed a psionicist to connect another creature's sense of sight to their own.[1]
Effects[]
This power tapped into the optical system of another creature from an unlimited distance away, making the manifester see whatever the linked creature saw. In some cases, this also established a link with the target's sense of hearing. This power had no adverse effects on the manifester's own sense of sight. If the manifestation backfired, the manifester would be blinded for 1 to 4 hours.[1]
If the linked creature was subjected to a gaze-based ability or effect, such as the petrifying gaze of a medusa, the manifester could also be affected.[1]
Prerequisite Powers[]
In order to learn sight link a manifester first had to know the powers contact and mindlink.[1]
Users[]
Sight link was found to manifest as an innate psionic ability by emerald dragons.[3] And while not typically a wild talent,[4] sight link sometimes manifested as such for necromancers, whom were known for developing unusual mental abilities.[2]
Psicrystals could similarly enable a sight link with their owner, though only for a period of 1 hour per day at a distance of no more than 1 mile (1,600 meters).[5]
Known/Notable Users[]
- Nar'Lheeth, an illithid of the Tamer Creed in the city of Nar'Vheen.[6]
- The Watchers, illithids that served as the early warning system for the Underdark community of Nar'Vheen, included sight link among their repertoire of powers and used it to spy from afar.[7]
