Slade Destinaxe was a dwarf paladin of Moradin who adventured in Cormyr during the late 15th century DR.[1][note 1]
Description[]
Slade had long white hair and matching twin-forked beard, wearing a suit of plate armor and carrying a large round shield.[1]
Personality[]
Slade was very stubborn, simplistic, and aggressive in regards to the grand questions of good versus evil. He believed wholeheartedly that evil must be smote as quickly and efficiently as possible, with no planning or chit-chat beforehand.[1]
History[]
Is our purpose to comb every nook and cranny, or to move at an infernal snail's pace? No!
Have I mentioned that she always attempts to parley with our foes? What good she does the party, I cannot say!
Slade stayed the night at the ruined Beckside Castle on the High Road around the time of the Sschindylryn invasion of Eveningstar. That night, he held Mystia Hollygrove hostage for hours with endless rambling complaints about his bard companion Lyrica Whitestone, who preferred to do more than kill everything they encountered. Mystia was eventually beaten down into just agreeing with whatever he said, in the hopes he would eventually calm down and stop.[1]
Appendix[]
Notes[]
- ↑ Menace of the Underdark (including Web of Chaos) is dated to the period of 1484–1485 DR, as it references the ongoing Darkening. Shadowfell Conspiracy (including Disciples of Shadow, Shadow Under Thunderholme, The Druid's Deep, and The High Road of Shadows) are dated to the same period, as they are stated to take place at roughly the same time as Menace of the Underdark.
