Sorcery crows were red-feathered songbirds with the ability to see into the Weave. These creatures were often kept as alarms that detected magic effects.[2][3][4]

Description

A sorcery crow resembled a scarlet red crow with glowing eyes.[2][3][4]

Behavior

When trained to do so, sorcery crows squawked whenever they detected magic within a 50 ft (15 m) radius.[3][4] Some sorcery crows were trained to only do so within a range of 10 ft (3 m).[2]

History

In the late 14th century, sometime after the destruction of the Soulmonger, the Red Wizards of Thay-operated Crawling Palace of Ras Nsi used sorcery crows as part of its defenses.[4]

Notable Sorcery Crows

Mother Sibonseni, Waukeenar high priestess of the Hall of Gold in Port Nyanzaru, kept sorcery crows in the entry hall of her villa.[2]

While stationed in the ruins of Mezro, Flame Brokenbarrel of the Flaming Fist kept a sorcery crow as security.[3]
