Sound burst was an evocation spell that blasted subjects with damaging sound waves.[1]
Effects[]
The spell engulfed an area some 20 feet (6 meters) wide at close range with an intense blast of discordant sounds. Creatures caught within were harmed by the sonic energy and might be stunned for several seconds if they could not withstand it. Those who could not hear were harmed but not stunned.[1]
Components[]
As well as verbal and somatic components, a focus was required. Clerics needed a divine focus while bards needed an arcane focus in the form of a musical instrument.[1]
On the Malatran Plateau, both arcane and divine magics were harnessed using spell fetishes. Sound burst divine spell fetish was a shard of cracked crystal.[4]
