In the Year of the Gauntlet, 1369 DR, the apprentice Red Wizard Rilder Palengerrast had this as his strongest battle spell. He tried to use it against the Simbul, expecting it may work where magic missile didn't work, but was not able to confirm its effectiveness, because he used it to strike her projected image instead.[1]
