Struthiomimus (pronounced: /strʌθioʊˈmaɪmʌs/ struth-ee-o-MY-mus[5]) was a species of dinosaur[1][4] distantly related to the deinonychus[4]
Description[]
Struthiomimus was a type of ornithomisaur and looked somewhat like its distant cousin, the deinonychus. It resembled a large ostrich and had powerful legs. They had no teeth, instead eating with a sharp beak.[4]
Behaviour[]
A struthiomimus was comparably less aggressive than its distant cousin, the deinonychus.[4]
Abilities[]
Struthiomimuses were excellent runners.[4]
Habitat[]
Struthiomimus were most often encountered in areas with tall grass.[4]
Ecology[]
Struthiomimuses were omnivorous and solitary creatures. While they rarely attacked large humans, they were known to attack demihumans and small humanoids.[4] In the Realms, they could be found in the land of Chult.[6]

Notes[]
- ↑ The 2nd edition alignment given in the original source is "Nil", which should be read as Neutral according to this Sage Advice answer by Skip Williams in Dragon Magazine Issue #155: "The nil alignment rating is a holdover from an early draft of the Monstrous Compendium material. Originally, a rating of nil indicated that a creature was not intelligent enough to have an alignment at all. However, the nil rating was dropped during rewriting and should have been replaced with the neutral alignment."
