Sus'sistinako, who was also referred to as the Spider Woman, was a great spirit of the folklore and myth of the Azuposi people of the Pasocada Basin of northern Maztica.[1]
History[]
Sus'sistinako, along with the Sun, was one of the original spirits. It was believed by the Azuposi that each of these beings was somehow the parent of the other. The pair created the land that would become the Pasocada Basin out of the primeval ocean.[1]
Following the creation of the land, Sus'sistinako used her song to create other spirits of creation including Iyatiku, the Corn Mother, and Alosaka, the Germinator.[1]
