Sven Salafin was an Uthgardt human of the Elk tribe of the Evermoors in the Savage Frontier in the late 14th century DR.[1][2]

Relationships[]

He was the brother of Ven Salafin.[1][2]

History[]

In the conflict known as the Battle of the Evermoors sometime around 1400 DR,[note 1] the Elk tribe battled the Cult of the Dragon for control of the helmet of disjunction.[1][3][4] Sven, however, completely missed it, having stepped out of the bath that morning, slipped on a wet stone floor, and fell and hit his head, killing him.[1][2] Nevertheless, he and the fallen Elk tribesmen were buried at a sacred burial ground on the site.[1][5]

A century later, in the late 1490s DR,[note 2] the body of Sven Salafin was exhumed by Edgin Darvis, Simon Aumar, Doric, and Holga Kilgore (a member of the Elk tribe herself).[1][5] Using Simon's deathly token to speak with the dead, they questioned Sven's corpse over the fate of the helmet of disjunction, only to find they had the wrong Salafin. Sven did ask how his brother was doing though.[1][2]

Background[]

Sven Salafin is played alive by actor and stuntman Michael Redmond, as a corpse by actor Claude Starling, and is voiced by Zachary Ruane.

Notes[]

  1. The battle is undated but is "a century ago" from the date of Honor Among Thieves, which is itself undated but assumed to be the late 1490s DR. The Year of the Exorcised Helm, 1402 DR, is a likely candidate.
  2. The Honor Among Thieves movie and its tie-ins are as yet undated. As discussed here, from the condition of Castle Never and Dagult Neverember's reign, this wiki estimates a date of the late 1490s DR for the main events of the movie. Prequels and flashback scenes are set up to 11 years before this.
