Swordcrag was an orcish fort in the Tarkhaldale, the Lost Dale.[1][2]
Description[]
The tall grey rocky crag, which had given the name to the village, stood as a marker, visible for miles.[1]
Geography[]
Swordcrag stood tucked away in the south-western part of the Desertsmouth Mountains' foothills.[1][3]
Society[]
By 1367 DR, among Swordcrag's residents were only the members of the remaining orc tribe and ogrish guards of the local chieftain.[1]
History[]
Swordcrag was once a small mining village which was built before the Year of Hostile Hails, −88 DR.[1][2]
The village was conquered during an invasion of the orcs of the Dragonspine Mountains, which had overrun the whole Tarkhaldale by Year of Dashed Dreams, −87 DR. Since then the orcs controlled the mines below the imposing crag.[1][2]
By 1367 DR the remaining orcs and ogres living in Swordcrag had fought in several conflicts against the saurials from Tarkhaldan. The orc chieftain of Swordcrag, Durang Head-taker with help of his shaman, Yegg Blackteeth, spent years forging alliances among neighboring tribes to challenge the saurials and was successful at it.[1]
