Symbols of the martyr were powerful holy symbols used by clerics of the Church of Mystra in the 15th century DR.[1]
Powers[]
Symbols of the martyr resembled a single silver star of the goddess of magic Mystra, martyred in her death at the hands of Cyric and Shar. These particular holy symbols possessed magics that blazed with energy when their owners suffered harm. When a symbols of the martyr ignited, it boosted the owner's attacking powers, spells' damage, and dramatically improved punishment dispensed with especially lucky hits, both magical and physical. Additionally, it powered the owner's healing magics, and when the cleric was surrounded by enemies, the healing magics were empowered dramatically.[1]
History[]
In the late-15th century DR, a symbols of the martyr could be recovered from a bandits' camp run by wizard Desram, hidden in the Sword Mountains, later raided by adventurers in service of Neverwinter. Another such holy symbol was stashed in the ruins of Illefarn among other treasures of the vampire lord named Ozit, lastly, they were used by Thayan Red Wizard who performed ungodly magical experimentations on monsters in the Neverwinter Wood.[1]
