Talf was a young laborer in a small town of Faerûn in the Year of Wild Magic, 1372 DR, who was sold into slavery by one of the Red Wizards.[1]

In the middle of the Year of Wild Magic, 1372 DR, one of the wizards from a local Red Wizard enclave, led by a woman named Hinnar, began selling locals into slavery of her own initiative. This underling, Kizzaf, disguised herself with a wig and charmed victims to follow her out of town. Talf and his companion Elonn were two such victims and, after visiting a tavern one day, were seen following a "long-haired woman" from the town while laughing along with her. Kizzaf drugged Talf and Elonn and sold them to a Thayan merchant named Mahzed. Their fates are unknown.[1]
