where did you get the stats on artemis either Salvatore goes above and beyond what a char. with only one level of assassin and 4 of rogue cand do or your information is wrong unless this is 3rd edition stats which stack if i remember correctly but still one of the best assassins in the realms would have much much higher stats than what you have posted just curious where you got your source thanks

Yeah it seams like he's have level 16 assassin or something. Level 1 is way off.
Death[]
In Dragon Magazine issue 386, there is a Bazaar of the Bizarre article discribing the magic items associated with Drizzt and his supporting cast. Each one is accompanied by a paragraph or so on how to aquire and incorperate the item into your campaign. When describing Entreri's dagger, it refers to Entreri in the past tense and states that as a human, his lifespan couldn't keep up with the drow he associated with.
The article doesn't outright say he's dead, and largely deals in hypotheticals for people running campaigns, but I thought it should be mentioned.TweaktheWhacked 23:53, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

True, though the article seems to ignore that and implies he died of old age. Again, this is likely just giving the player ideas for the campaign to handwave how their characters got ahold of the dagger and isn't strickly canon(the article also covers Drizzt's swords, Guen, Agies-Fang, the bow, the pendant, and Jarlaxle's eyepatch, all of which are supposedly aquireable by the player under the right circumstances). Well, 'Game Cannon' is not the same as 'Novel Cannon' anyway. So the article offers all the magic items of a bunch of dead characters? So 4E advanced the time line just to kill everyone off so players could loot the corpses....lol, too funny. (Bloodtide 21:49, August 23, 2010 (UTC))

- I've undone it. I can only assume he wanted someone to fill in the details from "The Third Story" from Realms of Infamy. I've read the story and frankly, Road of the Patriarch contradicts some of it (the timing of the story, mostly) and better fills in some of the other details. Vampiric Dagger Capabilities[]
It says 'citation needed' regarding Entreri using the dagger on drunks to recover his wounds. I just read that part yesterday, so it was easy to find.
Silent Blade, last page of chapter 9. I'm reading a web version of the book, and here it's on page 209/459. But a quick search says the printed version has 416 pages so it's probably not exactly there.
The full quote is: "His jeweled dagger possessed a particularly useful magic, for it could steal the life of a victim and give that energy to its wielder. Entreri took the talking drunk first, and when he was finished, feeling so much stronger, he bit down hard on a fold of his cloak and yanked the crossbow bolt from his side, nearly fainting as waves of agony assaulted him. He steadied himself, though, and fell over the sleeping drunk. He walked out of the alley soon after, showing no signs that he had been so badly wounded. He felt strong again and almost hoped he would find Kadran Gordeon still in the area."

"5e art" issues[]
The Legend of Drizzt Visual Dictionary is really all over the place with what looks like a lack of a coherent art direction, and unfortunately Artemis is one of the victims of that, namely, the artist apparently didn't get the memo that he's supposed to have brown skin. The Visual Dictionary's depiction of Artemis also includes equipment from different points of his life that are mutually exclusive with one another, namely the belt buckle that can turn into a dagger was used at a time when he was deprived of both the jeweled dagger and Charon's Claw.
I understand showing the most recent art, but it's really a travesty, and not even really 5e since the belt buckle was 4e. The accompanying description for Artemis' entry in the LoD Visual Dictionary also stops in 4e.
