Potential AdditionEdit

I was thinking about adding something like the following:

== Personality ==

Belwar is a real veteran warrior, experienced by the dangers of the Underdark. One could describe him as being stubborn and bold, but with a streak of kindness. He wants the best for his people, and for his friend Drizzt.

Belwar often spats out the comment ''Magga Cammara'', which means as much as "By the stones". <ref name="E-p109">{{Cite book/exile|p109}}</ref> He uses in several different situations: for example when in disbelief, surprise or baffled, or simply when he cannot think of anything better to say.

The artwork for this page needs to be changed, although I do like the picture. However, every description of the deep gnomes, including this Wikia, describes them as being completely bald. Belwar looks like an old white man in this drawing.

It is official artwork. Two things to consider:
  • Text always trumps artwork. Artwork is simply an artist's idea of what something looks like, but artists make mistakes all the time and don't pay attention to the source text.
  • Editions sometimes change things. In some cases, this is a retcon. If the art came from before the retcon, there is little we can do about it.
  • Is it impossible for deep gnomes to grow beards? Or is it culturally something that they choose not to do? There are many cultures in the real world where men are clean-shaven always, but it doesn't mean that they are physically incapable of growing them. The fact the deep gnome women have head hair to me implies that this is a cultural thing. Adventurers are special people, so it makes sense that a gnome like this would choose to ignore his culture's standards.
